I love the symbolism of the pearl. When a single grain of sand makes its way inside a mollusk, the creature secretes a substance called nacre which builds up layers around the sand to prevent it from irritating the soft skin inside.
That is how nature deals with discomfort- it adapts and makes something beautiful. Every pearl you see started off as an irritating grain of sand. If a little shelled creature can do that, you can handle life’s small discomforts- in style.
